Holly Lewsey
Solicitor
Experience
Holly Lewsey is an Intellectual Property solicitor with over 12 years' experience gained in private practice and in-house. She trained at Herbert Smith LLP and since then has continually progressed her skills and experience in both contentious and non-contentious IP, having worked at boutique IP firm Redd LLP; in the Commercial team at Burges Salmon LLP; and most recently for 6 years as in-house IP counsel within Jaguar Land Rover. Holly advises on a broad range of IP topics from the registrability of shape trade marks to the exploitation of IP in electric vehicle technology to drafting and negotiating complex commercial trade mark and copyright licences with some of the world's largest and most influential software, gaming, toy and clothing companies.
Holly also has extensive experience of negotiating sponsorship, franchise, distribution and services contracts, and dealing with image rights, privacy and confidential information.
Over the course of her career, Holly's clients have been as diverse as her experience, and she has worked for individuals, SMEs, charities, and multi-national companies. She enjoys being able to make IP concepts accessible to her clients and aims for her advice always to be down to earth and practical.
In her own words:
“Every business, regardless of size or turnover, has intellectual property; it is not something that only large companies should be able to protect or leverage. I enjoy helping SMEs to realise the potential in their IP and to develop their IP strategy in order to make the most of their rights. It is very rewarding to participate in the growth and success of SMEs and to give advice that makes a difference to business owners.“
